Collection of personal information

This notice is to advise of the collection and retention of your personal information by DEC-UAV Pty Ltd trading as FlyFreely. You may contact FlyFreely in relation to this Data Collection Notice (‘DCN’) by sending an email to privacy@flyfreely.io

Facts and circumstances of collection

We collect personal information directly from you via this form/app and when you use our website/app (including device/usage data from your browser or device). We may also receive information from third parties you interact with (e.g., identity-verification or payment providers). If we receive information about you from another source, we will take reasonable steps to notify you of that collection as soon as practicable.

If collection is required or authorised by law

Where particular information is required or authorised by law (e.g., aviation or financial record-keeping), this will be identified at the relevant field or step, naming the law where practicable.

Purpose of collection of personal information

The purpose for the collection of your personal information includes, but is not limited to:

  • Creation and ongoing administration of your FlyFreely user account;
  • If applicable - the association of your FlyFreely user account with your organisation’s FlyFreely account;
  • Verify your identity to facilitate access to your FlyFreely user account, your associated FlyFreely organisation(s), and the FlyFreely platform;
  • Provide information and services to you via the FlyFreely platform;
  • Enable FlyFreely staff to contact and assist users with support tickets, billing enquiries, incident communications, and other general information about the FlyFreely Platform (e.g. Platform Maintenance periods);
  • Meet FlyFreely’s legal and regulatory reporting obligations; and
  • Opt-in direct marketing and customer feedback surveys, FlyFreely Platform improvements; and other service updates or partner offers.

Consequences if personal information not provided

If you do not provide requested information, FlyFreely will be unable to:

  • Create or administer your FlyFreely user account;
  • Associate your FlyFreely user account with your organisation’s FlyFreely account;
  • Provide you with access to the information or services available in the FlyFreely platform;
  • Contact you to provide support in response to any support tickets, enquiries, or other requests that you make in relation to your FlyFreely user account, access to the information or services held within the FlyFreely platform, or other general support requests;
  • Adequately meet our legal and/or regulatory reporting requirements; and
  • Contact you to advise you of new products or services provided by FlyFreely or our partners.

Usual disclosures

We usually disclose personal information to:

  • IT and cloud hosting providers;
  • Customer support, security and fraud-prevention services;
  • Identity-verification and payment service providers;
  • Our group companies; and
  • Professional advisers where reasonably necessary.

Cross-border disclosure

Some service providers that host or support our systems are located outside Australia. However, we may only disclose personal information overseas where we reasonably believe that the recipient is in a jurisdiction that is subject to comparable safeguards under applicable privacy laws, or where you give express authorisation after being informed that those privacy protections may not apply. We use contractual safeguards consistent with regulator guidance, and adhere to data sovereignty contractual requirements in our enterprise and regulator agreements, where applicable.

Security and retention

We take reasonable safeguards to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, and we retain it only as long as needed for the purposes of collection (see list above). Access, correction and complaints

FlyFreely is responsible for collecting and holding your information.
